Get with the Program
What is the programming?
The program comes in many ways and is contributed to by all. It came when you were born. It came very subtly when the nurses dressed little boys in blue swaddling clothes and girls in pink. The program continued then, but it began much earlier than that.
What is the programming? It comes everyday in nuances and gestures. It comes in jokes that quietly scream-DON’T GET OUT THE BOX! It comes to say that women can only go so far in business. It comes to say that if you’re poor you can’t live here. If you’re black you can’t go there and if you’re a white male, you can’t jump. The programming is every where and contributed to by everyone. It is like air. We know it is there, but who pays attention to it. Besides, who wants to step outside the box?
What is the program? The program is just this…be Normal, which is, being like everyone else. Don’t question. Don’t stir the water. Be quiet, shut up and get along? But why?
The Scripture says we should not conform to this world any more but are to be transformed by the renewing of your minds, Romans 12:2.
Conformed, conditioned, shaped, molded, programmed.
Don’t be programmed by this world any more.
The world? What is the world? It is the thing we call reality. It is the thing we walk in, do business in. Go to movies in. The World is Society at large. It is the collection of people, places and things that we call our waking life. The world system is the set of rules that we follow to participate in the game. The World is not a physical place; it is our accepted collective belief system that we play a part of. And when we act outside the Worldview, the others don’t want to play with us anymore. On the surface the world is good, its collection of rules and roles is what allows us to survive and be separate from the animals.
But it is bad when it tells us we are something that we are not…and we believe it.
Be transformed?
Do you walk by faith or by sight?
1. If Jesus was physically standing beside you, would you steal? No.
2. If Jesus was physically standing beside you, would you lie? No.
3. If Jesus was physically standing beside you and you were hungry. Do you think he would feed you? Yes.
4. If Jesus was physically standing beside you and you had a financial need, do you think He would help you? Yes.
5. If Jesus was physically standing beside you and you were sick. Would He heal you if you asked? Yes.
Ok, Jesus said He was going to live inside you in the form of the Holy Spirit and that He would never leave or forsake you so if you are a born again child of God He is currently living inside you. What is the difference in God living inside you or the God standing physically beside you? Answer: you can see the one physically standing beside you.
Revelation: you are walking by sight! God told you not to walk by sight. He said we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Cor 5:17). He also said that the Righteous shall live by faith (Hebrews 10:38) and without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6). If you now know you have been walking by sight instead of walking by faith, now you can flip It over and walk by faith by choosing to believe what God says whether you can see Him or not.
